you need a null modem cable 9pin female to 9pin female, the 15 pin connection on your pc is a vga socket not for flashing.you also will need a usb to serial adaptor(the usb end connects to your pc in any port, and the other end connects to the null modem cable, and of course the other end of the null connects to the starview). the usb adaptor may come with a disk to load in to your laptop if not you need to go on line and download a driver(thats whats on your disk)that will work the adaptor.you will of course need to down load the firmware for the channels to unlock and gtrom loader(this puts the firmware in to the starview via the null modem cable and adaptor)you can find these by clicking on the link in my signature.once you have all the above your ready to go.if your laptop runs on windows vista it wont flash the starview for you(vista has compatability issues)you need a computer that runs on windows xp.so before you go buying cables check your laptop.and you need also to know what kind of starview you have there are 5 that i know of and the firmware and loaders differ. starview one just says starview on the front, starview 2 says starview the box, starview 3 says starview 3 super, and star view 4 has a usb socket at the back instead of a serial port.
