anyone no how to tell if the dream box i just bought is a clone or genuine one,and any tips on using it would be great as I'm only new to this,am thinking of going the card sharing route as cables a bit of a pain in the **** at the moment.

Dreambox have not made 500s for a long time so its bound to be a clone. Stay away from the later gemani images 4.2 I think and above. You will need a program like dream up and a null modem cable to get the box flashed in the first instance. To get into cs you generaly need an official sub to start with. Thats unless you going to pay a server.
