But are the actual recordings encrypted with N3 and possible .TS format also, thats the bit I would be weary about, there is a USB connection on the back of the UPC PVr box, have you tried to connect yer box to lappy to see if it will access the HD?

If memory serves me right, the recordings on the SV USB were not encrypted, but as your dealing with a sub box which runs on N3 encryption, you may not be able to transfer em, its down to how they have been recorded and if the encryption is part of the deal..... Be interesting to find out

Ok you could try this
scart from box to DVD-recorder. Select scart in
source on DVD. Play recorded movie on box & hit record on DVD
It's a bit messy, but if you select scart by-pass in DVD menu you
can leave scart from box-DVD & still watch box on TV

hi, well i gave it a go and its worked.
hooked up th upc box to the dvd recorder by the EXT2 scart slot, pressed play on box and rec on the dvd recorder and recorded onto the dvd hard drive.
then moved over to a DVD-RW from that onto my laptop and ran it through cloneDVD to a DVD and it works fine, plays on all of my DVD players and laptop.
probably a long winded way of doing it by going through cloneDVD but ive found on the past its the safest option as it allows to be played back on all types of players.
