Eurovox Blue Clone or Not

I am trying to fix my brothers Eurovox Blue box, he had 21 April firmware and was was flashed with 30 Nov firmware last year which did not work so I reinstalled the 21 April which worked. This week I applied the 30 Nov again to save him from inputting codes at rollover and it died again. Now I have found he has a Clone (Red paint on screws - cable assy), now after applying the 21 April firmware again I cannot get any output via scart or RF and have error messages of 0209 and 3031 on box display. Can anyone tell me how to confirm whether it is a Brick or not?
