i live in east midlands and was wondering whether i have to have an active ntl line, the last time i had internet with ntl was around 3/4 years back, would the line still be active?
any other models eg kryptview, dream box etc you would recommend - please nothing over £100
i was just wondering what people think about this eurovox box, is it worth buying over other models.
In a word NO. 1000sl box itself is OK, picture is fine; user-friendly;
lovely sleek design. Then we go downhill. No L.E.D. display;NO on/off sw
NO mod-out connection(useful if need to send box chls.to 2nd TV.
NO buttons of any sort on box(if you lose remote you're FU**ED.
Having said all that I know 20+ users of 1000sl are quite happy with them.Are overpriced so would RATE B-
Digivox XL USB; besy value cable-tuner box on the market.Recording functions all work.Only small glitches on N2 are unable to rename favs
+ Chnl.move option absent in Chnl. edit. Not major issues; RATE A-

Not user friendly, recent reports of LED display fading or disappearing from window. Have no doubt techo's will issue fix for this.On MMDS manual input of T.P.'s is required.Can be daunting for

This box will be cause of next major ecological disaster on the planet
When everyone dumps these(it will be soon)because of their pirate use
people will not bring them to re-cycling centres.So all will go to
land-fill seeping heavy metals + other toxins into soil + underground
streams. The effects will be felt for generations.God help us.STAVU4
lost 100 chls. for 3 months on N2; v1.1fix--lost 10 chls. in 1 week;
Beta fix--most chls. back,record functions + EPG still KAPUT; many
reports of 8882 issue Box FU**ED;even more reports INVALID BOX issue
If box unplugged will never re-boot again.This problem said to only
affect clones,but closer inspection shows early shows early genuine
boxes also wiped out by N2 fixes. V1.12 fix said to fix power issues,

EUROVOX 5100pvr; Best cable-tuner box on market by far RATE A
LINUX-tuners; all excellent,takes some research before setting up but
worth the effort.Once you use a linux box you will never go back to
cable boxes.Considering cost + performance my own preferance is the
DREAM-500c,they are cloned box but quality OK + cheaper than most cable-tuner boxes.Gen.linux can be very pricey. RATE A or A+
