Hi guys,
I have the original starview box. I have the basic N*L package, the problem is that I don't have digital and my widescreen tv doesn't look good with the normal anlogue channels. Is it possible to use my original starview box to view the normal channels, RTE1, Network 2 etc.. on my TV in digital format, I'm not interested in the other channels, just the basic ones through digital. Thanks

if you are with upec no cos the box was not upgraded to nag.2
but you can get 1 of there boxes for an extra ?5 per month
and that will be digital, also you get an extra few channels for that fiver?
but if you are on ch*r*s im not 100% if they still work but yes it will boost your analogue to digital, "also provided you live in a digital subscribed area wheather you are on upec ch*r*s"
also if i am wrong about the ch*r*s part some 1 correct me
ohh' sorry yes if you put your cable in the input on the box and then get another cable from the output of the box to your tv then yes you will haved boosted your signal to digital :) again you have to be in a digital subscribed area which 90% of ireland is now.

I believe the old starview boxes will still receive the basic channels on N1 encryption.

But yeah if your only interested in the free channels, just upgrade to digital.

I just looked at the upc website and it seems they changed it a bit.
When i signed up in december 08 i got digital for 20 euro a month, and the analogue was 24 euros.
Im still only paying 20 euro a month, it looks like they change it now, maybe if you call them you can still get the 20 euro digital.
