answer simple. do you have a website that will supply you with consistent software updates. not with this box. so this is just another dumb satellite box. stay clear

mickah, accept what you say. however what i have found is that such boxes have very limited support in comparison to the huge amount of enthusiasts buildings software for the boxes i mention. i should correct my language, the ggg box may have support but i do question where it will be a year from now and i also question if such a box will give the diversity of images and plugins that the boxes i mention do give. i appreciate the box is a cheap hd box but all the extras of competitor boxes make them a more worthwhile experience

Oh totally agree Fint, but it seems to be taking off, seems like a good box, but as ya say, the open source boxs will always have support of some fashion as there are lots of groups adding and changing the source files,

1. Do you have any info on how they perform? Are they glitchy (or does that just depend upon the sat feed)
2. If I ran two in one house as a share, would they interfere with eachother?
3. Would it be the same quality as a A780 on cable?
4. Do you need 'unlimited broadband' from your ISP to use it? (Don't care about the freebies cos its just porn and youtube isn't it?)
5. Do they have a limited shelf life (like Starview)?
6. Do you know what the EPG is like?

Wizardsat sells FTA boxes like he sells the Starview FTA no boxes are sold with any software on them other than FTA viewing software.
The suppliers have no intention of defrauding any provider of revenue software is made by a third party just like all the software for all STB are made by a third party its the owners decision to apply these third party software to their STB for what ever purpose they have in mind.
Suppliers condone the use of these third party software for illegal viewing of subscribed tv that is why STB warranty is voided on applying them to said STB.
You get a 12 mth warranty with any STB as long as you abide by the rules of sale use only the manufactured FTA software on the STB do not alter or misuse the box in any way the could lead to voiding the warranty on your STB.

@ nm heroes, I suggest you pop over to their site, section there on em and what they can or cannot do, there is a good discussion on them
EDIT - CCAM works on this box also, so there is a furthur use after 12 months for the box, new firmware released to stabilize the pic just released,
Work a look for those interested and for the price and what ya get for 12 months firstly aint bad at all and it has furthur uses after this if the right stuff is added to it.

@Mickah: Have jumped onto satdownloads.co.uk to have a look as suggested. Asked on here because I am more familiar with the forum and the regular posters.

Have to say for a very cheap HD box with cccam it doesn't seem bad at all. Pity it doesn't have Pvr capability also. That would be very nice!
Please, please, please use the search box at top right of site before asking a question that has already been answered.

true. its really hard to find a cheap hd box that works. i've been thru many of them and in every case the tuner is rubbish. would love to know if the tuner in this box in fact can deliver proper quality hd. the lack of pvr is a pain.

so scandalu you say the ggg box supplies the same stunning hd quality that the vu does. and for 1/4 of the price. now it must be an incredible box to do that. wow

the tuners not as high quality, but the picture quality is good...its what i use,but iv also used the vu+....sometimes price makes a difference and sacrifices have to be made, but yes...im happy with picture quality....the tuner on vu+ is much better(glitch free)...but i dont know many people that can spare that sort of money...

can i ask why you would use a vu+ duo and revert to a ggg box. seems a very strange choice.

so you got rid of a higher quality box for a box of inferior quality with hd glitching because you didn't need a second tuner. now that logically really sits in my brain.

some of us prob aren't as carefree with our hard earned cash as you my friend...the vu+ (370quid) i used was returned to its rightful owner, and my comparisson (333g 165quid) was done... ,and if you care so much, why dont you donate me one!hows that for logic!
