hi guys
what do you think? by sky insisting on virgin securing their network, in order that sky provide hd content,it has forced peeps to go for other ways ie motorised system, still getting all of sky plus much, much more. instead of virgin losing money on tv, sky now are losing money directly, lol. my case, a mate came round to watch a 3pm game, who has sky,£80 A MONTH HE WAS PAYING, asked how do you get that, i told him, he cancelled his sky & is pleased as punch with his new setup. best thing he ever done. this is happening all over the place, i know of at least 20 lads that have cancelled sky in the last month & are now enjoying 3pm games, amongst other things, lol. is sky's monopoly coming to an end? i hope it does, after seeing how much money they make from ripping the British public off, then it's a case of just deserts! why dont the fa make OUR football free to us, but charge everyone else through the nose for it. it is the best in the world, people want it.at the moment they charge us through the nose & everyone else gets it virtualy for free, strange

look at their financial results and the answer is clear. plus the recent interest in the complete buyout of bskyb by rupert murdoch. so the answer is no. they have a dominant position and they continue to dominate. yes people will not be impressed by their actions but the reality is that they sign up many more accounts than they lose

its about time the fa let sky screen 3pm k/o now that would be nice although setanta ireland do 3pm k/o but cannot get that on vermin so for more footy motorised dish and cs is the way to go although pc streams are gettin better as a make shift option.

the point i'm trying to make is everyone got sky for the football. take that away & they have nothing. cast your minds back to 1991, the premier league started, sky went in with a shed full of cash, more than bbc & itv combined. they got the rights to televise live games. almost over night, white dishes appeared & sky made a fortune! most people in the uk only have sky for the football. by & large, the uk public watch bbc & itv, with a bit of content from sky.

e45, c/s on sky generates huge revenue for sky so i would question what you say. why would they shut it down. look at the amount of full subscriptions required for the many who use c/s. if they shut it down many users would switch to alternative solutions. they are only too well aware of this. so while the cash comes in they are only too happy to let it continue. gagzy, to be honest, and i hate to admit it, sky have a fantastic all round package. i don't agree that most users in the uk are happy to sit on only bbc and itv for the majority of their tv. sky offers a much broader channel line-up which many residential users appreciate

God, you think you guys have it bad in the UK, the price for exactly the same services/packages here in Ireland is much more than the sterling equivalent. They do the conversion from sterling to euro and then round the price up to the nearest euro. its a total disgrace. I wish we had sterling here in Eire so that we could pay the sterling price and save a bit of cash.
For example, the basic package price for sly in the UK is 19.50 where as the euro equivalent is 23euro. Take it to the max and get the full sly world package with hd, its 71.25 sterling but the irish price is a crazy 103euro. so if ever you think you have it bad just look to your irish neighbours and say to yourselves, 'we have it ok compared to them'
