Hi there;
i am new to the forum. I appologise if it is a repetition but i just wanted to confirm if all the ppv channels were gone as of yesterday (i am a virgin media customer). I have a nokia dbox 2 and have been watching the sky movies and sport without any problem for nearly two years now. And i found it weird that it was just only yesterday that everything starts going wrong.
Is there any hope?
thanks

read the other threads. the only working boxes are starview 6 and kryptview a780. you can use your box for free view bbc1 to maybe five.

nope, the Sv6 or Krypt are a self contained unit with their own firmware, your Dbox is for the bin or under the bed, look at the threads on the forum for more info on both boxs

Thanks mate just one final question about the box, i have tried searching on the other threads but could not find what am after. With my dbox, i used to flash the image myself every year (done it for 2 years now). I am just wondering since the sv6 come with own firmware does that mean i will have to throw it away again in 1 year when virgin media changes their code/key and get another one.
As long as the firmware can be updated with the right key, i am ok with that. I just dont want to use it only for 1 year.
cheers

Cheers for the info e45 but not being a pain and just to make sure i got things right, so if i get a kryptview A780 i also need to get the firmware to unscramble the premium channels is that right? How does this work if you dont mind i ask? i have read other threads but they dont tell you exactly how it works.
thanks

ok i have been reading other threads about the kryptview A780 and i am getting confused. People are mentioning about the iconnect. So do i need the iconnect thingy with the kryptview A780 or does it already support everything?
thanks

no, the A780 is a all in one box, the ICONNECT is for those who have the A750 box to make it LAN connectable, so if you dont have the A750, you just go for the A780 model

i was going through the tutorials for the A780 by e45 and realised taht you need a RS232 cable which comes with the box but i dont have such connector on my laptop and i have seen they sell a convertor cable as well. But just wondering if it is possible to flash the box with ethernet cable like i used to do with my dbox.
If not then i will have to buy the convertor as well
cheers

you need the RS232 to flash the box and do it with a PC with XP on it, less hassles

hi had a eurvox 1000 was gr8. but 780 only works with a live tv sub.if you only have broadband on your cable it will not work as the signal is v/week for tv.if you get tv thou your cable will b ok? i hope.
A woman drove me to drink and I never even had the courtesy to thank her.
