I wish I had someone that could help, I'm really tempted to get rid & get a kryptview to save all the hassle, as e45 says they have better support & that's exactly what I need.. Will let u know how it goes. Thanks everyone for trying to help me out!

Would it be possible to try box in friends house. Use auto-connect & if it works look in
IP setup & note values IP,Gateway,Mac,etc. Then try to manually connect & alter last no. in
box IP address to a higher no. This is just to check that you are doing the manual-connect
properly. I know you are getting a gruelling with this but keep the head up.
You said in an earlier post your LAN-IP was 192.168.1.1 & Start-IP was 192.168.1.10.
& End-IP was 192.168.1.150
Surely last no. in LAN-IP should be greater than 10 & less than 150.
If you know any computer techs in your area they could advise you on problem.Good luck

Certainly sounds like problem is in your router settings as you say it worked fine before you reset router. Check firewall settings and other security settings on it. Maybe it defaulted to High firewall security change it to medium. Think netopia and zyxel routers do this when when reset anyhow.
Please, please, please use the search box at top right of site before asking a question that has already been answered.

This could be simpy a dodgy network cable ? Have you swapped the cables just to see ??
Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you know what for if you know who might hear you, you know what youll get. Youll be sent off to you know where for you would not know how long. Maybe I could search through the threads so you dont have to ??

Don't give up now,Darky. Don't think it's your LAN-cable as you have flashing light at LAN-port
on STVU 6. You could try LAN-cable in different port on router.
On PC hit START-RUN-type cmd-OK-type IPconfig/all-ENTER. Take note of all relevant values.
Post back here ALL IP-addresses,Gateway,subnet mask, & DNS servers.
What items are on your network,i.e. PC,laptop,router,printer,X-box,etc.
Post IP-addresses of all items as well.
One option is to disable DHCP on your computer network, then manually assign IP address on STVU.
You have all network values copied down, & could manually connect any item if need be or can
re-enable DHCP.
Simple option if you have X-box or other console connected to network. Disconnect console from network & use console IP-address on STVU 6.
I assume you have checked router firewall is not blocking STVU 6
When you do sort it out don't forget to let us know solution

yea I have lights on at the back of the router & sv6. I did the cmd thing.
IpV4 lan 192.168.x.xx (preferred)
subnet mask 255.xxx.xxx.x
defult gateway 192.168.x.x
DHCP server 192.168.x.x
DNS servers 192.168.x.x
user dns 205.xxx.xx.xx
orange settings say my primary dns is 193.xx.xx.xxx
2nd DNS is 193.xx.xx.xxx
but this is what orange say on their help page...
DNS is dynamic but if DNS addresses are needed if using a fixed ip address please use
195.92.xxx.xx & 195.92.xxx.xx OR
193.xx.xx.xxx & 193.xx.xx.x (these numbers are near exact to mine)
my lan addresses
iphone 192.168.x.xx
other mobile 192.168.x.xx
ps3 192.168.x.xx
home pc 192.168.x.xx
im sure my sv6 lan ip should be here too?
theres another 'device' that says disconnected via ethernet cable & that is 192.168.x.xx
this must be the sv6 talking to my router??? the mac address for it is xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ive gone into settings and i have a thomson livebox mini 2 v7.1-h323
i feel im near the finish line...... cheers everyone

You been busy. Strange your mob.phone & PS3 have same IP address.Have a look at Mac address on PS3. If it's 255.255.255.0 then use same mac address on STVU 6 & IP-192.168.1.xx.
The other thing you could try is disconnect mob.phone & PS3 from network. Then manually enter
PS3 settings into STVU 6
IP----192.168.1.xx
Gateway--192.168.1.x
Sub Mask--255.255.255.0(I assume this to be correct, if not enter correct Subnet Mask.
I am by no means expert on computer set-ups, but I am sure now that you have posted all the
IP-config settings Mickah, Fintanni, or E45 will be able to put you right.

OH MY GOD ITS WORKING EVERYONE
eamo_too your a legend, i did everything you said in your post & i now have connected at the bottom of my menu bar & all my channels back. I am so greatful to EVERYONE (reswob mooley mickah etc) who has tried to help me out on this post, my son is also very grateful to have disney back.lol. eamo_too you right, i misprinted my ps3 ip (it wasnt the same as my other mobile)
all i did was check my ps3 network settings data & the numbers were different to what my computer was telling me so like eamo_too said i put them details (dns etc) into the sv6, pressed apply, turned box off at the back for 2 mins then the magic happened. I was so close at one stage to giving up and throwing it away. i know it wont last forever but at least its working (yes e45... for now.lol.)
i will b keeping an eye on afterdawn to see if i can pass on my experience.
thank you all so so much.
Darky.

Darky you are as stubborn as a mule, anyone else would have thrown that box in the bin. Glad
to hear you are up & running. Hope you didn't have any bother re-connecting Ps3. You might
post the values you now have in your IP set-up, so if anyone has that problem in future they
could compare your PC settings to your STVU 7 settings & give them a guide how to set their
STVU 7 IP set-up. You really shouldn't have all that bother connecting box to internet. I did
loads of dreamboxes & I never had that kind of trouble. The most I ever had to do was turn off
DHCP on box & manually enter IP, Gateway, & sub.mask

Good point E45. If you read this Darky you might ask mods to edit earlier post with IP address
