Hi I've been reading all these posts about the new boxes like the SV and Kryptview. I have a question on Vir** checking whether you are illegally viewing tv, How exactly would they do this? If I have my orignal box plugged in as well, that would send feedback to the cs. I assume these new n3 boxes require an ip, like your pc does when using internet. Currently my samsung vir* box with the new card is connected by a coax cable and another for the modem. So can I not splitt off another tv input cable into the new SV or Krytview box to receive the tv. I assume this method of connecting to a router is so that the box can connect to a card sharing server? What kind of broadband speeds would be required for good streaming? what about download limits being reached.

try and keep your questions to 1 thread please,it saves confusion
they cant actualy tell you are watching a dodgy box, they dont talk
all they can see is data packets
yes you need your broadband
when you say split ??? if cable yes, if broadband "router"
what do you need streaming for? it does not use much speed
i dont think you would need to worry about d.load limit

Looking to upgrade to the k'view 780 from euro for the obvious reasons.
One question.......is it an absolute to have the box connected to broadband if so why ?
I run a usb dongle and laptop for portability through a hub router.

If you dont have the box connected to broadband then you will only get your fta channels, it must be connected to the broadband to receive the premium channels. As to how it works, if we knew that then someone would soon put an end to it, some things are best left un-answered eh!!!!

how it works is simple. your box connects to a server across your internet connection. this server sends you the necessary decryption keys to unscramble channels. hence the need for your box to be internet connected. no mystery

god, even i can answer this. i will let e45 apply the appropriate answer but to be honest if you clicked on the links just inches above where you posted the question the answer would be obvious. your research would be considered not exactly extensive. at least make a darn effort

Hi Guys,
my SV is dead and I'm looking a replacement! ; ),just back fro India for the next six months and after reading through some of the threads it looks like the 780 may be the way to go?, can they be connected to a router via a wireless connection? or any other box suggestions?
cheers in advance

You have to connect the box to the router with a LAN cable mate, router to modem, TV cable to box aswell.
