I took the back off and checked the connection between the front panel and main board. I also took the pcb off the front panel to see if there were any problems there. Put it all back together - Nothing.
Tried mycablebox again today. Four phone calls and no answer. No email reply to my email.

all you can do is keep trying but remember you did flash the box so you know what they can say you modified the box but lets cross that bridge when we get to it

OK, well it looks like I'll have to try resoldering the IR sensor to see if there is a dry joint. If that doesn't work I'll have to try to get another IR sensor.
Haven't checked to see if its got a serial number on it. Does anyone have any component details for parts?

I'm hoping that its a generic part used in multiple electronic devices.
Obviously the supplier route is best, but Im sat here with a supplier who doesnt answer emails and has turned his phone off!

Yes. You are right. Its just so frustrating. I dont treat people this way, so dont like it when I get it in return.

I didn't mean by you e45. I meant by the supplier.
You have been very responsive - all over this site!
Thanks on behalf of all!

Just to close my bit off - hopefully!
Received an email from mycablebox on Tuesday telling me to return my equipment and they would provide a replacement. I sent it on Wednesday, it would have arrived with them on Thursday/Friday and they sent me replacement equipment on Friday afternoon. I picked it up from the Royal Mail depot today, used the tutorial on e45's sig block to set it up and within 30 mins max I was up and running. The new box and remote work wonderfully! Hopefully it will remain that way.
