I'm in Belfast and ordered a A780 to see if it would work replacing the SV which arrived this morning badged A790.
The supplier had already loaded the latest file for me so I simply plugged in the Orange homeplugs, the network cables and the A790, scanned and hey presto!! ; )
Just a big thanks to e45 for the help in his sig! and James for his help!
All working well at the minute!

My understanding is 790t has dual tuner; cable & terrestrial, so it should work on mmds
but I don't think there's a server set up for mmds in Eire

I would be delighted if there is a server set up in Eire.
We have to be careful when we say MMDS.
NTL mmds signal worked on cable boxes using aerial.
Chorus mmds worked on T-signal boxes using aerial.
If anyone has box working in Eire If they could post details;
Is area NTL-cable, Chorus-cable, NTL-mmds, or Chorus-T mmds

I don't believe there are any cable or mmds boxes working in Eire
If there was a server set up for any box surely they would make it known
so that people would buy the boxes.
The story that kryptvu 790t works on mmds probably started because chorus-mmds boxes
were; The box-T, Digivox-T, Dream500-T, & Eurovox-TX.
When poster od Ddigital-duo was asked by Mickah to post back pic.
reply was; A friend had told him, he hadn't seen box himself.
I haven't seen any posts for help setting up boxes in Eire.
As far as I know only boxes working in Eire are linux boxes with private c/s on cable
or mmds

well hopefully they keep it private they dont need people to buy most people buy by word of mouth that way theer is no need for forum talk and to be honest it was the forums that killed the box first time round

With all due respect to e45, I don't believe any forums killed any boxes.
I'm sure all cable providers had a bank of popular pirate boxes connected to network.
Any counter measures they tried would be tested in front of their eyes. They did not
need any info from forums, they already knew if boxes were gone down.
Nagra3 has killed the boxes & without info on forums people would have great difficulty
in setting up LAN boxes. Long live the forums & the members who help others.
Until such time as cable & sat providers give service at reasonable prices there will
always be a market for hackers & pirates.

I think what he meant was, for a long time these box's were underground so to speak, word of mouth, hand to hand, but as more people started using em, forums sprang up and then what was a small underground "hobby" thing, was now on national radio show discussions, tv shows etc and huge business for some, i actually seen a fight in a pub between two lads fighting over who sold what box to whos customers for a fiver less than the other! I kid ya not.
Yes the providers knew about em, but when they hit the radar and as big as they did and impacting their sales as much as they did, they started to implement the changes we have seen in the last few years,
A lot of folk had cable boxs for a a few years, not a key roll was done, box worked perfectly, as soon as the boxs became a huge threat to their coffers, we seen key roll after key roll, rom changes, warnings to forums about posting keys, in Ireland, N2 kicked in and then N3 to combat them,
So for me, there is merit in keeping thngs under wraps as much as possible, the sat cs forums dont discuss anything openly and for a good reason

maybe it should be implemented here. Keep everything quiet by making a private facebook forum or something like it.
