the SV wont replay anthing back apart from .ts files or mp3, to play back whats on your HD, you will need a media center such as the Western Digital media HUB,

size wise, I wouldnt go any bigger than 250 GB, but you can partition it using swisskife to a smaller one

I've a 1TB and it works fine too. There is normally about a 5 second delay between clicking record and to when it starts recording. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the HD size though.

The SV4 will only play .ts files with MPEG2 encoding. I've tried loads of converters to try and convert AVIs to the required format but I jsut can't get it too work. I think my settings must be wrong

have one pearse great bit of kit, but ya have to be dilligent with your music and films, I have my music with say the year, then artist and song, that way all the 70's 80's 90's are together and its a matter of just scrolling to what you want, great playback from it also via HDMI
