well markronan that the whole point in keepin setanta sports 1 like they think they can still make money for there channels and i agree wit you 15 euro is a bit irish like :):):):)

I've noticed in the past though that even though on tv listings it says the match is on setanta 1 it somethimes is actually showing on setanta Ire. Have stumbled upon that before for some matches so fingers crossed that will be the story today!

In Ireland we still get Setanta Ire and Setanta 1.
Yesterday on Live om Sat it had it down for Setanta Ire also and today it's on Setanta 1!! They've done it the opposite way this time the dirty animals!

yep.. dirty. setanta on UPC was make/break for me, solely for 3pms. this means i am may well move to the darkside even though would have to have the house wired up like a borg spaceship
..and ya'd have to add HOW much for Setanta 1? UPC/Setanta have just blown it, completely. hello Sky you bastards..

Never! I shall not succumb! Could have gone to hers and watched it on sly germany but decided to watch it on pc to tv on sly italia! Never pay that rupert crook!

are the most of the games on setanta 1 this year not setanta ireland?
if so,bye bye upissy...that was the one thing they had going for them.... is it 12 month rolling contract or can you cancel anytime

I think you can drop any packages at any time but as far as I'm aware you enter into a 12 month contract for basic.
They share the games over Setanta Ire and Setanta 1 during the season but they only have about 33 and chances are they'll show any match of interest on Setanta 1 the scummers.

only thing they had going. n mooley u just know its specifically the premiership teams of relevance in ireland that'll likely be diverted to Setanta 1. as we saw with 1 of the 2 today
i don't appreciate in this day and age Sky is again becoming the only real avenue to go. between UPC's enforcing of 'HD' subs combined with the retraction of a sole game of football a week - unless u wanna pay 4 quid for it.. could be suderland v wigan for all we know.. which their deal hinged on. lol.

mark do you know if i am in contract with them - i was processing an order on the phone, bank details and that until the credit card part to pay for the once-off install/box fee which i put on hold, guy said he'd call back tomorrow when i've topped up my 3V
..they won't have put me in contract just yet in this scenario, would they?

You know the ironic thing is the creation of different packages by the premier league was to prevent anti competitive practices but if anything the consumer is now worse off than in the past when sky had all the live games.
In the past you paid your sky sports subscription and got to see the EPL games.
Now to see EPL games you need to pay your sky sports subscription, espn subscription and setanta as well. To be honest sky sports still have all the big games so are the only one really worth imo, however the other packages have games on at better times ie sat afternoon, sat evening, mon night.

this is u*c trying to get some of there money back from all the subs they lost over the last few years and to try and pay for the switch to N3.
its just that they know now that most people cant get the channels now so they are making the most of it and ripping people off even more.
what I also think what they will do is leave the remaining channels on for sometime to hold onto the minimum sub paying people cos if they knock them all off there is no reason why pips would stay with them and go to s*y with a good few extra channels for the money.
