don't worry about it sg8, took me two years to get mmds working. then it took me another 6 months before i could build up the bravery to mess with what i had got working. these days its down to a few minutes to do a working build but i understand why users have their difficulties. i've been through the pain barrier on all this. these days its even more simple with the vu+ as you just load the image from usb by turning off and on the box. i wish dreambox would make it as easy. its crazy that dreambox users must be put through so much grief just to read a card never mind share it

actually sg8, you don't need sat dish connected to server. i thought the same myself but fint put me right, in no uncertain terms!!, and turns out he was right. of course you won't be able to view that box.

hi ppl is anyone having any problems downloading cams form gemini sever im trying to sort a friends out over the phone but cant get any cam to download its saying no entrees (help plz)

cheers for the heads up fin saved me a lot of time :}i take it it must be ftp across ive never ftp before you dont have a noob freindly link i could follow my friend if not no worries cheers anyways.

you can still install cams from nabilo images (and pli images )so you could change the image or as fintann said if you want to keep gemini you will need to manually install the cam.

pli well supported. for manual download use flashfxp, select program, put in /tmp and use menu system to install.

darkstar is good i use it on a dm500s/dm7020 with no issues except for it was missing a few frequencies ,thats fixed in about a minute by downloading an up todate satellite.xml file and ftp it to var/etc ,then reboot and scan for channels. pli is also a very good image and well supported as fintann says .so either of those will work ,or keep the gemini image and do a manual install .

I agree,Darkstar 2 is still a good img for clone 500s, I've just set it up and it seems to be working pretty good, dont need a manual install either which is gud, can all be done from the remote.

Just a reminder for those who have 500s, dont do a factory reset, in order to get your channels back, or you will lose the cams, as I did, as I thought that was the problem, they are back now, so all well.

Just make sure you use paypal cause should it go wrong you then have (paypal) to fall back on also checkout the seller see what kind of rating he or she has.

If you are buying a box from outside the Euro Zone, you are not covered by Paypal insurance, as I have found to my detriment, when i received a damaged box.
When it is shipped to Ireland.
