Hi, I have been having problems with my starview 4 box. I originally had firmware v1.10 and was having increasing problems with the box turning off. I then downloaded firmware v1.12 and installed. I had all channels but no sound at all. I then re-installed v1.10 and everything was fine for a couple of hours until the box turned its self off.

Everytime i try to turn the box on it displays 8888 then flicks to 8882 then flashes and restarts.

Can anyone help?

8882 means in simple terms that you had a bad flash(meaning some thing went wrong when you installed the latest firmware). the only way to fix this problem is by buying a max 232 interface(then you need to open the box and disconnect the wire coming from the usb socket at the rear of the box,and then insert the max 232 interface in to the same connection) which now trans forms your usb box in to and older type box ,so that now you can use a null modem cable to flash your box(which should fix your box)you should be able to buy a max 232 interface in maplins or any good electronics shop.

The box restarts. He has not had a bad flash and does not have an 8882 error.
