starview 5 The box USB II stoped working

Since last week, my SV5 box has stoped showing the paid channels, and $(dollar) sign appears in form of these channels. I tried to reset to factory setting and instal the 22-9-2009 firm ware but nothign changed. Any help will be appreciated.

press menu - type 1570 and turn the keycode to ON and exit out to a TV chan, if yer in Yorkshire area, yer up the creak

Your up the creak because from what I can gather your cable provider is trialling the new encryption card in The Yorks area, quite similar to what happened in Ireland a good few months ago. It probably won't be too long before the whole country is in there with you, unless of course there is a fix, which may or may not require a new box, no-one knows too much yet I don't think.

Well what happened when this happened in Ireland? Did they get a fix or did it require a new box? I take it this is the much discussed 'nagra 2' encryption?

I knew this was going to happen...I noticed the warning you get on the sports channel section changed to inform you your box will 'soon stop working', and I've seen the V ads saying they're sending people out new smartcards. I put two and two together. I just hope Christmas is out of the way before it hits our area.

nothing happened, blank screens, no fix for it and at the rate its chaning will be Jan to feb in the UK and "Welcome to the blank screen club"

in yorkshire areas, Leeds, Harrogate, etc, they are now on N3 and by the look of it the majority of chans,

No new box nore fix for it
