No probs posting on here myself as I've never had one of those. I would certainly follow the people's advice on here if you do have one and disconnect your internet connection immediately.

Please, please, please use the search box at top right of site before asking a question that has already been answered.

UNPLUG THE BOXES FROM YOUR BROADBAND/ROUTER NOW.

once upc have put the server on there own network, they will be able to see all the ip addresses & mac addresses that are connecting to the server. i bet 95% are using upc broadband also.
no prob tommy
also more like 99% as they are/were only working in or around dub area
This is bad news. Any news yet about the UK servers?

Having a U*C server in U*C territory was just the most insane thing ever. Why not just do sat card sharing anyway? Significantly cheaper, potentially much, MUCH bigger selection of channels and far too big an area for providers to raid (heck, there are servers as far away as Africa, the Middle East and Russia - Way out of Sly's range). Genuinely future-proof.

Even card sharing isn't overly necessary these days with almost every game you could ask for on an ever growing list of ever more reliable streaming sites. Providers ARE going to lose in the long run. Giving them little wins like the U*C server raid just gives them false hope of returning to the dark old days of total content control :D

by the way just count starview winning at least for the past couple of years more then 50000 boxes with a evry box they make about 80 a 100 euros, now with starview 6 more then 10000 already sold, and they do not care about you of what so ever only how much they can make

he is right, but all the people who buys a box like starview does not want to buy somecrd to be able to share (full package like polsat only 120 euros) or just a porn card ( less then 100 euros ) but are willing to paid 100 and 100 of euros in boxes like starview who is the greedy i do know just st***p people who buy a box for 200 euros to expect to work for a year, 1 500 s clone is only 65 euros one card 100 euros and a couple of years of fun

the sat set up is good for people that are technically minded not for the lay person

1 you have to get a sat dish installed in your house

2 you have to get all that is needed on the box which for a lay person forget about it

3 you have to find a good s***** that wont rip you off and the server fee only last a year

4 Irish people will find it hard to find a sat server that has the irish channels on it and when they do its more time off than on.

5 the amount of time it takes to set up all this

6 ohhh and the initial cost of it all box + dish + Ser + installation fee ( rough guess you are looking at 450.00 for good set up )

against buying a 160.00 box plug it in and away you go ok you have the risk you have a risk with sat as well dont forget they also get turned off so risk is on both sides you either take it or get a sub

Surely they are not going to do a similar setup as the SV.

Unless the server is from outside Ireland. Is this possible.

dont listen to this twat,,,
Do you work for one of the providers? Or are you just miffed at being caught? Either way, "Aww..."

Anyway, my sat provider has sly Ireland and is transmitting from somewhere in Africa (Morocco, I think). Absolutely flawless if a tad bit pricey (?25) but MUCH cheaper than the providers and that includes everything in Europe. Even including Showtime Arabia - Pity I don't have the dish for it. Admittedly, it's not suitable for everyone and yes, you do need a dish but one of those portable, caravan dishes on the balcony or out the back garden would be sufficient for 28.2e anyway.

As for providers, if you can get some trustworthy, likeminded friends & family members to set up your own private card share, you would save hundreds of euro a year (?12 each for the full HD package every month if you get 5 others). Sorted. Fair enough, the setup isn't that cheap to set up but it would more than balance out.
