moved to correct forum due to poster's blindness as not a safety valve issue.

Flash box with latest firmware, Connect Prov TV cable to box & scan for channels. Connect
LAN-cable from router to box with rs232-LAN adaptor. Reboot router & box

Hi e45, You helped me many moons ago when I got my 1st box(had a few since) I always updated my own firmware etc from your fantastic advice.Just wondering when you say server is offline is that likely to be indefinate or just for now? Understand if you can't answer this one as I know there are a lot of issues with these boxes over the years regarding how long they actually will last. Also I am thinking of having a package installed that includes motorised dish, receiver, lnb. On the advert there is a card that says Super Sport Premium on it. Not sure of the make of system but you pay a yearly subs to it. Would one of these be more beneficial than the starviews? Hope you can make sense of what I am on about. Thanks in advance.

Dont matter what system you get unless its a paid one there are no guarantees with C/S boxes any of them

prob due to greed as they where selling so well and could work both sat and cable they have now just made a cable HD box called euroview and there is a new sat box coming i hear as well called euroview so split the boxes twice the profit

Just upgraded my box whilst server is down in birmingham (again) to 1.0.4 and I noticed there is no option in the network settings for NET APPLICATION to change from ustream or istream. So is this option hard coded automatically or is this software for Ireland or England..??
Thx again Guys,,

Thx again Guys,,
!.04 firmware is for UK only so UK-stream is preset & 8989 has no function. Some prefer 1.03
firmware as you can check all settings are correct. Others found 1.04 did not clear all channs
but 1.03 did. I hope it's only your firmware needs updating & not your box. Would you believe
anyone would run a server without spare cards or card readers if replacements could not be got
locally

Thx again. yep seems my time maybe up after sv2 through to 7.It won't be long before there guys are charging a nominal fee for sports, moives etc.. just like the adult channels. In your opinion which hardware platform is the overall best to go with. I am a bit worried about the SV HD combo as i guess the cable side uses the same server. Would like a cable HD box that is reliable enough to part with my cash again.:-(
thx for your input..
