hi people
i recently purchased starview hd combo.
obtained carling file loaded onto box(i have virgin cable and attached lan)
got Mac address out of box.
(but can not input into box as when i go Accessories/Network/IP Setup it wont let me input anything into the mac address )
Any advice would be most helpful (bearing in mind complete novice here)

THIS IS FOR THE STARVIEW HD COMBO + ONLY IF YOURS DOES NOT HAVE A LAN PORT DO NOT USE THIS FIX!!!!!
You will need:
A computer with a serial port
A Null modem 9 pin serial cable (as used on the starview 1 - 3)
The following file: SVHD+FIX.zip - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download
Once you have the above:
Connect the SV HD to the computer using the serial cable and attach to mains (leave turned off by switch on back)
UNZIP the file downloaded
open HD-200_Download.exe
Choose COM 1 (unless you have connected it to a different port)
Select software (HD300N_SC_RS232_1.bin)
Turn on receiver with rear switch
bar will start counting to 100%
WAIT UNTIL SOFTWARE SAYS COMPLETE!!!!
Turn off receiver and back on
P.S. This will also recover 'bricked' SVHD's (if there are any lights still on)
Once complete the receiver will be as factory provided.
If your Starview HD has lost its MAC address this is what you need to do next:
Go to accessory - network - ip config
Set IP to manual
You can now edit the MAC address back to the original receivers address - Your mac address is on a sticker inside the receiver (you can see it through the vents on the top)
apply then exit.
Then you can start from scratch loading which ever firmware you choose.
I hope this helps
Almost forgot after fix ya NEED to install the Starview_HD_Combo_+_0128.uad anyother files will give a usb error problem

ihave installed everything as best we can, and seem to be coming up with error code (0) when we register
we have installed the guiness file you have sent
Ver: F5.11 , LDR : VER00.21
hardware Version- Ver 01.20
Latest Update May 24 2010
Have you done the Menu-Accessory-8989 ? yes
Have you switched the Network to on? yes
What is the IP address displayed in the menu? 192.168.001.003
What is the Mac address displayed in the menu? 00.26.61.11.EF.D4 (from inside box0
Have you gone into CSNet and set that to Ustream? YES
If Yes, what message comes up when you register? it comes up connecting and then ERROR CODE ( 0 )
Can anyone help with this error code ( 0 )

its prob the server, ive had that when everything should have been working, wait and it will prob fix itself, or make sure your NIC cable is good and pluged in properly

hi sorry to bother you again but thought i would chance me arm anyway!
in Accessory/network/CS Net/ Type set to Ustream/ connection status says "connecting" i have pressed ok on register but nothing seems to happen.
also when i look at
in Accessory/network/ sever- sever set up/ everything set to off is this correct
one last thing when i go to IP Set-up the mac adress is in there correct but it is blue text when all the others are in white- Does this matter?

change it to istream and click ok then change it back to ustream.
in Accessory/network/ sever- sever set up/ everything set to off is this correct.
yes in my case
one last thing when i go to IP Set-up the mac adress is in there correct but it is blue text when all the others are in white- Does this matter?
mine is set at auto so all are blue, changes to white if i pick manual

[]V[] that file you put up for the starview combo should NOT be a rared file and is noty from the 4 shared site where the combo file is from
i suggest people use the file at the bottom of my signiture as they are the latest files

not sure what you mean if you go to your settings at the top of the page you should be able to set your link in there on your profile page
are you
trying to get your links the way i have mine ??

I got am issue with a SV6 HD combo with LAN. The unit has been reset as per the fix at the top of this thread and reinstalled the software, the channels appers but after a few minutes the box starts to reboot, this continues with reboots getting closer together until the box in in a constant cycle of reboot.
Anyone able to advise me on how i could possibly fix this as it is my mates and he is hounding me for it lol.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

its not a starview 6 HD combo its a starview 6 or a starview HD combo, handy to know just wat ya have. id say yer box is faulty like mine as i cant use the 7 day EPG cos that will send me into boot loops for a while so i never use the red button when im in the EPG and no firmware has ever fixed that problem for me. i know the 7 day EPG works as my dads works just fine i just put it down to some boxes

well no one else has gave ya an answer so id put it down just like mine that ya have a faulty SV box build to that *cough* starview high standard.
try the whole process again slowly and see wat happens, wat firmware ya got in yer box?

dodgy boxes are not meant to be able to use epg as they are not the same as subbed box people forget this the box is for showing channels that is all anything else is a bonus i suggest you buy a weekly mag
