Well as you all will have seen by now, all the boxes on the N** and Ch**** networks, have been diminishing by the days, some areas where cut off fully weeks ago, Dub has been going gradualy, and now fully gone, with just a handfull of the old FTA ones we had before the coming of the boxes, we all knew this day was going to come, but it was good while it lasted, and maybe someday there will be a new rising of the boxes, but for now its time to take out a sub, i myself would suggest sly over N** or Ch****, as they have a far better range of channels, and they dont have as much problems as U** do, like channels going down, you also dont share your cable with anybody else which is even better less breakdowns, that U** do have on their systems and left for days without service, not to mention the amount of time waiting for an answer on the phone, you would be old and gray sometimes by the lenght of time it takes for them to answer, or keep you on hold playing some silly jingle on the other end.
Well all i can say, people have well had their monies worth from the boxes, well anyone that got them from the start it was, just bad luck for whoever just had theirs a few short days or weeks, but if you got 2 months or more out of your box with a full sub you have done ok.
Well hopefully someone somewhere will have a bash at the N3 problem until then its a sub from someone.
And well done to all the people on the DVB section on Afterdawn, that helped many hundreds, if not thiusands of people to get their boxes up and running, you all know who you are as there is just to many people to mention on here, im sure all the people appriciate your time and help on here, as myself and others gave freely when we could.

i am one of the lucky ones still receiving ch**us mmds as you said it owes us nothing.

mogger mmds is the alternative to cable to see if you are in cable or mmds land you can do a google search (chorus mmds areas)

just to say thanks to all who helped me also. Down to the last few channels on mmds Galway tonight. I have a freesat guy coming on saturday evening. end of an era, great craic, love rippin off the ripper off'rs.

ah yes very good while it lasted,dont mind paying for sly hd more choice better quality,even a freesat dish will give you 80 odd channels and you can buy a box and dish kit for euro110.

first time posting here, have been availing of box channels for the guts of 3 years now, never felt the urge to post before but now it's all done and n3 has kicked in fully I felt I had to post to say how disgusted I am at people who are willing to pay these ridiculous prices for these rubbish channels. 99% of the channels are total crap, and 99% of whats on the 1% of the channels that aren't crap is total crap!!
if your willing to pay good money for this than good luck to you, this country is in the financial state it's in because people were willing to pay ridiculous prices for things that weren't worth even half the price that was asked for them, but people just paid it anyway. I personally don't think that either sly's or upsee are worth even 10% of what their charging and would ask anyone who's thinking of coughing up to seriously think about it before u cough up that kinda cash.

Might finally get to watch some DVDs now, loads lying about unwatched while waiting for the boxes to go and get my moneys worth...
The biggest kick is not the money but going back to the appalling menu system on the subbed boxes. Mates have resubscribed to sports but gone back to using the dbox when not sport was on. Others were asking "wheres the button to do X, Y, Z" -and were disgusted to hear the subbed boxes have no such menu features.

I cancelled My ch---- a few weeks ago. Decided Sly was a better option. Then the other night Ch---- ring me up begging me to stay. They even offered the sports package for 19 euro per month. Too late for me. But anyone else out there. I say play hardball with them.It's amazing what's negotiable these days.
