I have Onkyo HTR-960 THX receiver, PS3, Scientific Atlanta HD DVR, and 55" Samsung LCD TV. Does ANYONE know (in detail) the correct connections for all of this. For some reason, it takes FOREVER each morning (usually an hour) for this setup to "search for signal". I have 4 other tvs in 4 other rooms and there is no problem -- just with the main TV that has all the components. Can anyone enlighten me with very specific connections for this setup? I know it is asking a lot, but my husband passed away and I don't know how to set this up correctly. Thanks.

like anything its all about setup. you have a signal coming from a satellite dish. my guess is that this connection is running directly into the onyko receiver. then from the onkyo receiver you have a scart connection to your tv. you also have a connection from the onkyo receiver to your pvr device which could be a usb connection. you really need to follow the cables, explain the connections, and then maybe we can explain why you might have an issue.

if your tv is hd ready hook up a hdmi lead to the outgoing hdmi port of onkyo, you will have to set it up with speaker tests and also configure what connection you are going to use on dvd,vcr,ps3 etc.it needs to know what circuit to power on to work,if everything has a hdmi port use that.
another way i did it was to run hdmi from sky box to tv and an optical spdif to the spdif on the amp and when i press the cab/sat button the sound comes through the optical port which is set up to use, takes a bit of time to get used to it,i use monster cables so i know i wont have problems.
