All was working ok since the last fix a couple of years ago.
I'm now getting that old chestnut Waiting for code update on sky movies yet surprisingly sky sports are ok.
Have done a factory reset & new search. I preverious used my local area Lewisham, but this has been removed from the list, so I used Bromey. Picked up all the TV channels ok but the movies still wont update.
Will there be a fix for this?

No your area is going/gone to N3 so you will need a new box, since you have a Kryptview 700 just get the new Kryptview 780, you will also need to connect this box to your broadband to get the channels.

Hi Tdub12dave, thank you for your prompt reply.
Obviously if I need a new box I should buy the best possible.
Is there a box on the market yet that is capable of receiving High Definition & PPV?
Also, you say the new box will need to connect to my broadband to get the channels.
Are you just refering to downloading the firmware? or will the new box require to be permanently connected via my internet connection to get the channels?
Thanks

the Starview Combo, which is a cable and sat box can get HD chans, but, the cable side of it is limited to one years access and thats it, new box if you want to keep the cable side running,
For a cable box, go for the A780 Kryptview, working fine in the UK, no issues
The box needs to connected all the time to the internet for the magic to work, this box will get PPV, but not HD content

Thanks Mickah,
Umm, Now I need to decide:
Do I go for the Starview Combo to get HD & PPV and buy a new box every year? (as I need to keep the cable running because I can't have a satalite dish on my flat)
Or do I go for the Kryptview A780 get PPV but no HD but only for a limited period until the switchover to HD?
Tough one!
What would you suggest?

e45,
Thank you for your advice mate,
Before I ditch my A700 for an A780.
Am I right that The A780 can fully cope with N3 & that it also gets PPV?

My Starview HD Combo arrived this morning.
Thanks for your advice to use the Carling firmware, however I have also seen recommendations on another forum to use Grooverider firmware.
Which of the two firmare would you recommend? and where do I find the latest version?
Thanks

Hello Hooter,
I will enjoy when I can get it up & running lol.
I've been trying to follow e45's Starview 6 tutorial all day long without a break, it's giving me quite a headache.
Has a Starview 7 HD combo been recently released? if so I must have one!
e45's photographs of the on screen display clearly shows USB under the heading Utilities, where as mine show USB under the heading Accessory, plus verious other deviations to confuse a newbe.
I've loaded Carling firmwhere, but not sure if I need to load the 'loader here' firmware as well, Do I?
I haven't got a clue how to set up and activate the internet connection, is there an idiots set up guide ?
Thanks in advance for your guidance.

do you have the sv combo or the sv.6
both use different firmware
no loader needed just file on a usb stick and in the box do the rest with remote
just get your lan cable from your router to the box
make sure you have right firmware for the right box!!!!

Well this is keeping me out of the pub tonight so I suppose thats one good thing.
Having reformatted my memory stick to Fat32 and flashing the SV Combo I was getting a message: failed insufficient memory on stick.
I'm retired and was not exactly brought up with computers as you guys, but I decided to not be beat and I'm reformat my 300gb remote hard drive to Fat32 so I can try that.
Nearly two bottles of wine down, and still another 19% of formatting to go.
Chat to you tomorrow if I havent blown up my new box lol.

Finally got things up & running.
A few remaining scrambled stations, and no HD.
Hopefully these will be to come.
Thanks for all your help.
