Hey Addicts
I haven't been on ere since the old anologue box went off. However these new boxes are popping up on the market where they connect to your modem & you get all sly channels with a dreambox.
which is the best box to get? how difficult are these to program to work as I want to buy a standard one & install everything myself as it could save me loads.. where is the best place to buy?
How do these work? ppl who buy them pre programed say they are guarantee'd for a year then you have to pay more for the second year?
any advise would be helpful..
thankz

For IKS there's Protek/Nanoxx, Spiderbox etc. For C/S there's Openbox HD PVR, Dreambox800 ect. Google is your friend mate.
Oh if you're looking for sly alone look at the openbox or dreambox or Blade or anything that runs cccam.
Please, please, please use the search box at top right of site before asking a question that has already been answered.

I have an Openbox and have to say that the picture quality is excellent, cant compare it to the Blade as this is my first HD box, but it is a good box for the price.
@Icemen it all depends on what exactly you want HD/SD, PVR etc, if SD is good enough for you then the Dreambox 500s is an excellent starting point, or HD on a budget the Openbox S9 is a very good box, these are sat boxes so you will need a sat dish (Sly dish is good enough)
If however you want cable then look into the Kryptview 780.
To me it depends on where you are UK/Ireland as to where to order from and what box you decide to get, if you want I will send you a PM on where to buy from.
Do not buy any box preprogrammed with channels as the quality of the service you get can be very bad or you could get lucky (but I doubt it) again when you have your box get back on and you can be pointed in the right direction.
Hope this helps you a bit.

to be honest, the dreamboxs are bit harder to get going than say the Blades, if you know linux or used it before, fire away, but if your looking for something thats a good pic and easy to flash, go for the blade box, its HD also, but have a good read about, there is excellent tuts on here by Piopat on the dreamboxs, but like I say, if your not up to using Linux, have a look at the blade box

My mate just an Openbox S9 and when she put on new firmware she got the dreaded clone message on screen and box was dead. I managed to get it back working though using via RS232 and a certain version of uploader and certain version of firmware. Can't remember which versions they were but if anyone has same problem just and you need it just ask and I'll dig it out. Gotta run for now.
