i have video files i made myself after i edited them and i need to have them at 40mb's MAX and in MPEG1 so i can host them on sony image station and i was wondering how to do that so i will be abble to tell the program to make it the correct size...thx
I think TMPGenc is enough. Using the project wizard, you select VCD_PAL or VCD_NTSC and load your movie using Settings___Full Screen (keep aspect ratio). After some time, it will encode it into a 352x288 (PAL) or 352x240 (NTSC) pixels movie.
If you do someting wrong with the settings, simply press 'stop' and the Setting button. Chodse the correct settings then press 'start' again.
In 'Setting__Advanced' please select 'Motion Search Precision' at least 'High Quality (slow)'.
Is this enough?

No, sorry. MPEG-1 is very standard, you cannot lower the bitrate of a MPEG-1. The rule is: 119,900 frames @25 fps equival to a movie 119,900 / 25 = 4796 sec < 80' and mpeg size < 830,000,000.
If you have 23,976 fps the calcuation is similar, you can fit more minutes of movie into a CD, since you have a lower framerate.
Since a VCD image made by VCDeasy, for instance, is about 10,600,000 bytes larger than the movie, you therefore will get a .BIN about 846,600,000 bytes large that, since you burn 2352 bytes/sector when you burn an image (RAW), will occupy 846,600,000 / 2352 = 359,949 sectors, which is less than 360,000 secrors (a so-called '80' CD' is 360,000 sectors).

I'm using version 2.5 but I think all versions are the same (except for MPEG-2 editing)
