Video : 583 MB, 821 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 592*320 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported

: 692 MB (692 MB), duration: 1:39:14, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 51 %

Audio : 109 MB, 154 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported

When I try and put this movie file through it says it is unsupported and cannot open it.

Is there any other programme I can use to either put it on DVD or even maybe CD

Cucusoft Video Converter

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it

Cucusoft is surely good, but maybe the problem is simply you don't have the xvid codec installed on your PC.
More, read the 'sticky' thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/110106 to have some hint about converting AVIs and othr stuff.
To put movies on CDs use VCDEasy or VCDGear (freeware!). ON DVD I don't know, I never do it.

The codecs are installed on the pc as I can view the files and they play fine on the PC.

One is in mpeg 3 and one is mpeg 4 format and I dont think TMPG can recognise them

Cheers for that - only problem being I get as far as screen 2/5 when I try to open the file but there is no option tab available at that time anywhere?
