well i recently bought a dvd-burner (Benq DW1620 16x +/- Dual Layer DVDRW Dreive OEM) and i bought a 50 pack of dvds (called 8x Dvd-R RiData).

Anyways when i attempted to burn a ps2 game (Phantom Brave) i burned it using Nero 6.0 and CloneCD. I burned it at 2x so it wouldnt lose data.... well after i burned it using Nero i put it into ps2 and ps2 would go straight to browser.... then when i tried it with clone CD same problem happened...(I have burned games and i have modchip so it should work..but game wont load)

I was wondering if someone can help me to fix this problem or if u cant help me at least give me your opinion on which product is causing this problem.. im worried its hte burner.. but i was wondering if it is the dvds or the programs im using..

PS: I tried using Alchohol 120% but when i start it up and i go image burning wizard then pick the isu file and click next i get to the options screen before burning and i cant press on anything and i cant go start... all i can do is say how much quanitiy i want and cancel and back...(on the bottom i get no media under (E:)AXV virtual cd/dvd rom)

.. thnx to anyone who answers me

first your alcohol problem you need to delect your writer from the drop down menu as from what you have posted you have the virtual drive selected not your writer and what type of boot method are you using to boot your backups

Try burning the game with dvd decryptor. I could never get my games to work with Nero or Alcohol they would eventually work after I had burned the game for the 4th or 5th time. Now they always work when i burn with dvd decryptor try it but i cant be certain that this will solve your problem

Yes, you want to burn your ps2 games as slowly as possible to get the best quality backup. Some people have different results at different speeds, but from what I've encountered personally, I burnt a backup at 4x and it was even slow with just browsing the menu's. The loading times increased dramatically as well. However, I burnt it again at 1x and it was as good as my real copy.

with dvd decrypter in mode>iso>write pop one of your blank dvdr discs in your writer and have a look on the right hand side for the media code and post it and i will try to tell you who made the dye on your discs
