I dont know how to convert videos to AVI.

I have a media player but a program that came with only converts avi's to an mpeg4 (i think mp4). But if the video isnt an avi already it wont convert it. How can I do that?

1) Have a good codec installed
2) load the movie (AVI or MPG) with Virtualdub
3) set Video__Compression and chode your codec, configuring it
4) do File __ Save AVI (F7)

But why? AVI is a lossy format, you do it only for exporting a big file (a 1.3 GB MPEG can become a 700 MB AVI, if you use a good codec well configured).
