I'm guessing you want to make a dvd from these. If so try this guide to get started.

You could also use these if you have them. Nero Vision Express or DVD Santa. Good luck.

You don't want to do that.
You want to make one big .AVI from it.
Unrar the files in winrar.
Join all in VirtualDub.
Frameserve to encoder.
Encode AVI to mpeg.
Author and burn.

Best authoring program...hmm..."cheapest and easiest"...no such thing.
The best is DVDLab Pro www.mediachance.com
The easiest may be VSO, which has NO options at all, but does give you a playable dvd (no menus, no buttons, no chapters, nothing.)
If you must have the subs, then you're going to need a program that allows them, and even better if they're selectable (turn them on or off).
Again, DVDLab Pro is what I use for authoring.

this is what i'm doing. what am i doing wrong?

1- downloading avi's.
2- using dvdsanta to convert to watchable DVD
3- burning the newly created files with Nero.

what do i need to do after step #2 to create subtitles?

No...BEFORE step 2.
Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > DvdSanta > Remove.
Now go get a good encoder that outputs mpeg's. :D
DVDSanta just won't do what you want. Period.

Step 2: Encode mpegs from AVI.
Step 3: Load mpegs into dvdlab.
Step 4: Add menus, chapters, whatever.
Step 5: Compile DVD in DVDLab
Step 6: Burn compilation.

Cheers, Jim
