Hey there I'm new to this encoding and burning DVD's I used Super dvd 8 to burn x vid file and the sound is off could you please point me in the right direction because I 'm lost to what i've read and what to do

downloaded from torrent site,have installed all the recomended codecs ,purchased Super dvd 8.0 ,Ran it and it converted the file to a VOB and automatically burned the file ,went to my Home Dvd player and it is choppy in sound . If you do it differently could you please walk me through it maybe I don't need the Super dvd and there is free wear out there that you use.I appreciate the reply

Have you checked with VirtualDub if the audio was properly encioded (read http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/129217) ?
Making a DVD or a VCD gives the same results....
