STINKY!.. I hope you would look a this.
I messed up my laser head and it would cost me $250AU to fix it so it could play DVD disc. That more than the cost of an unmod new ps2. Then I found your disc, I burnt it and hope it would boot up to check for the HDD which I have not got yet.. I just want to see the program before I commit myself to a $50 spending on the network card... anyway I tried your disc, it boot up to the logo where it said Playstation SCEE and just stuck there... There is no option or file browsing to allow selection of the emulator etc...

My question is, Do I need to have the network adaptor and a Harddrive in order for the CD to boot properly (ie. pass the logo page)????
I have no memory card also.

And just to help me troubleshoot, I modify the SYSTEM.ELF to point directly to the SNES emulator and create a new CD - when test, it only boot to the logo and freeze, just like the original setup...

Pls give me suggestion to make it work, I really like the Idea of having a HD so I can put DVD games onto it via my PC and then play it on the PS2.

I am cheap and so wont make any donation I can tell you that upfront... I just dont like exposing my Credit card detail to internet. But if you were to live next door, i'd be happy to pay you 20 or even 30 dolar for your creative invention - provide that it work for me of course... but to make up for the lack of fund. Pls accept my compliment - EXCELENT WORK, and for making it free to the public is just so very GREAT..

if you get the sony ps2 boot screen to show up (the one that means the game is loading) but then it dissapears and nothing happens, or it goes tot he red cloud screen then you messed up the system, cnf file.

Since you got the sony screen it means it is accepting your cd as a PS2 disk, but the system.cnf file is not pointing at a valid .elf file.

If you pointed it to snesstation then you wont get a menu or anything though, it will go right into snes emu.

You should change it back, then if you want it to go only to the snes for now you can set it to default to snes with a 0 second time out. It will look like it never even goes to launchelf, but you can also chaqnge it later to whatever you want. Just hold "SELECT" while the ps2 is booting.

You should also be able to load into hdloader with no NA or hdd. It will just give you an error within the program that says there is NO HDD.

Try changing the system.cnf back, or else download the app again and burn it the same way. It should work.

You may also try changing the vmode from NTSC to PAL. Since thats what Australia uses (I think). Some people have said it made a difference, others have said it worked no matter what.

STINKY_1,
thanks for reply to my message earlier. I tried your CD again last night without any fix and BOOM!!... it boot up into the option. Fantastic.. I am going to go into the shop and grab that network adaptor tonite and fit a HDD into my PS2. THANKYOU HEAPS!...

And for others who has problem, The DISC works.. it was just my PS2 laser head not picking up the media...I am going to have to make some adjustment to the pots on the laser to make it work all the time..

Oh, STINKY, I want to ask you now that I can boot up with your CD "how can I place this program into a memory card so I can boot into the HDloader without using a CD or DVD? Does your program allow transfer of files between storage medium?"

Thank again for a great solution.

you cant boot right off the hdd. You need a trigger disk.

the disk was designed from the start to use no space on the mc at all. Dont try and defeat that purpose. Just run it off the cd.

redboot looks like a linux app of some sort. I am not totally sure, but I will check it out some more and maybe add it to the disk if its worth it.

serrano,

That red thing looks like an add on app for linux. It doesnt look to be anything useful to most users.

Janthan,

I assume you have a computer, and that you have enough resources to find stuff on the internet with it. (Since you find this site and thread). So I am wondering why you think I should use my time to explain something to you that already has VOLUMES about it on the net?

Chances are if you do NOT know what video game emulation is then you really dont care. So I shouldnt even waste my time.

Try this.....

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=video+game+emulator&prssweb=Sear...

For the future if you go to www.yahoo.com you can search for anything you want and not have to ask people questions to answers that are right at your fingertips.(litterally!)

Sega master system is the sega master system. If you dont know, then you must not be a probuct of that era?

But yes it is the original sega.

paul,

Did you read the readme's supplied with the programs? I thought it was clear how to program launchelf for the apps.

If some thing is NOT clear then cut and paste the part from you dont understand and ask a specific question. That way it can be improved on rather than me typing it out here all the time.

would you mind explaining what part was not clear? Others may have the same problem at some point so it may help out to say what the problem was and how you fixed it.

Thank you Stinky for the great AIO boot disk.
I just found out your boot disk just last week
and now I understand what the MC exploit is all about.
I even got your boot disk to run on a 1.nonmodded(pudgy)PS2
2.no cogswap/swapmagic disk tech...

Thanks again.

Sorry for the stupid question but
Quote:
Using FTP clients on the PS2.

You will find that inside the folder for the boot cd is a file called
IPCONFIG.DAT This file is used by faplink to access your ps2 IP address.
It is set right now for your IP to be 192.168.1.100 If you cannot make
this your ps2 IP then you will need to change it BEFORE burning to disc.
The format for the file is like this
i cant find IPCONFIG.DAT anywhere oO Do i need to make a new one or is there something wrong with the file i got?
