ok i was testing WinAvi to convert a episode of gundam seed and i got it converted to dvd format and burned with nero. and i tested it in my dvd player and the subtitles are half way cut off on my tv screen. and ideas on what i did wrong?

Either the screen or the movie changed and was cut off or your TV cuts movie's edges.
In the case it's your TV's fault, (I never used WinAVI) you should try to resize the movie to reduce it e.g. from 352 x 240 to 317 x 216 (90% of the whole screen). But I don't know the correct WinAVI command, I only know that on TMPGEnc you choose Settings__Advanced Video Arrance Method ___ Center (custom size) being careful to resize any axis of the same amount (ot you won't keep the same aspect ratio).
