The slimline doesn't work with exploits, sony got wise to the exploits and patched it all up...

Yeah that probably is true about the v12 consoles,not really positive if the mem exploits work with the latest consoles or not.You could probably try the harddrive method,would probably have to come from an external harddrive.I never tested a v12 console with the independence exploits,so I'm not really helpfull when it comes to the newest models of the PS2.Sorry for the late reply,and it is still possible to load the PS2MediaPlayer bro.I wouldn't give up on it,because it is actually awesome I think.There is supposed to be another media player in the works,but it is in beta stage so they are working out kinks here and there.

the thing is im only 14 and i dont have the money for a external harddrive and I thought the exploits sounded good .
but I do have an external but i have it hooked up to the computer
is there a way to use it with ps2 without formatting the harddive
so i can use it on the com and ps2. and i need usb advance not hd advance Right????

Sorry I haven't been able to respond. Iv been bussy getting ready for college and didn't have time chat. I didn't know sony got smart against the memory card exploit and is now preventing it. If you have a friend that has the action replay with the usb stick you can borrow it.

@ Kyle : the usb stick thing is just using your ar max with a usb device instead of using a cd to put the exploit on your memcard, which won't help you, since you have the slimline ps2.
What it boils down to is that you can't use any memory card exploits, and without a memcard exploit you can't run ps2 media player, so, sorry to say this, but you're sh*t out of luck.

so the only way is hardrive
does anyone know of a way to use a ext hdd on ps2 AND computer
which means when its pluggged in to the ps2 it plays ps2 games but when its on com i still have my data

Maybe threw a USB connection. Bro unless your going to veiw CAM.avi's don't bother with PS2mediaplayer because if the video has any decent quality most likely it will pause frequently.

the Action replay usb stick does work since I have tried it on one of my friends Slim Line PS2. Take the file inside the ps2media.rar named "ps2media.elf" and rename it to "autoexec.elf" once done, use the Action Replay Movie player( allows you to play avi files off a normal cdr without any mods or hacks, no pc connection thow)to activate the ps2media player. Then it will go to the PS2 Media Player screen. then use the config screen like I said before to config the PS2 to connect to the computer. then just save the config to the mem card using the save option. You will have to use the Action Replay and the usb stick every time you want the hack to work.
The action replay allows you to cheat in games giving you stuff such as unlimited ammo, extra life, extra time, ect...

does that mean you can use a usb stick like a memcard so you can put
like exploits on like the hd exploit and the cogswap exploit and stuff like that because i would have liked to use the sm3 or cogswap
with the memcard.
and the usb stick can u just use any usb stick or do you need a certain one
and keebles i dont get the change name part what is that for is that so action replay recognises it.
do i make a folder on the usb stick and put all the ps2 mediaplayer files in it
and action replay is there somewere in AU that i can get it from

yes change the name so the action replay reconises it. and no you can't just use any usb stick, only the one that came with it

No, the USB stick can't just be used as a memcard, it won't be reconised by the ps2 just by its self, it will only work witht the action replay.
