I've bought Action Replay Max and loaded the Max Media creator 1.0 software that comes with it. Everything else runs 100% (i've written files to my pendrive etc.), but when i select " PS2 Cd roms ", it displays the error message:

" This item cannot be selected as no drives have been detected under this category "

Obviously, this means i can't write a cd yet which is quite annoying. I have two DVD drives, one is a DVD+/-RW... both working 100%.

Any idea what is causing this error and how it can be resolved?

Uninstall your Max Media Creator. Go to codejunkies.com and download version 1.32. Then you can access the cd function.
