BIOS wires (MNOP QTUV R W) .

Black screen means totally nothing when you switch on the PS2. Though it appears to read the DVDs when inserted, nothing shows on the screen. Had this problem with both Modbo 2.0s, someone else on the forum also encountered this.

Hope 2.1 is much better :)

why dont you tell me what version your ps2 is?

usually it does work after the chip is removed. HOWEVER, I have spoilt 2 sets of PS2 before on my very first attempt.

sorry mate, i dont really like to view pictures, maybe u can post them here =)

ur v5 ps2 should be fine, wont crack so easily. for the GND wire, just solder one extra wire like any other wire to the same GND pin. This is just to play safe. If your GND wire is very short then most likely an extra is not needed.

SCPh-30004 could be a V2. If it has only 8 screws underneath then most likely a v4. im typing from memory, so im not 100% sure.

i dont like any ps2 below v4, i just hate to separate the motherboards (!!!) .

still need to keep it short and neat. its the standard for all mod chips.

maybe u can take a look at magic v plus, the important points are directly soldered on. Max 2mm apart only.

not too tight, just short and neat.

So you still haven't got it working aaur4? That sucks. You could just order a Matrix Infinity or DMS 4. From what I hear the installation isn't bad and they beat the hell out of a modbo. I paid a pro $100 to install a Matrix Infinity in my v.4 PS2. It works great. It direct boots everything. It's given me a reason to play my PS2 again. The chip is $50 by itself, $100 with professional install and shipping.

That sucks. You can pick find em for cheap at pawn shops. I'd avoid ebay. Most of the PS2's there have something horribly wrong with them.

Yeah but I know multiple people who have put PS2's that were broken on ebay for sale. They sold em, but at the same time said they'd never buy PS2's off ebay for that reason. Between that and all the impostor Taiyo Yuden's, I'd never buy anything PS2 realted off ebay.

The Modbov2 has worked for me i bought them for $14 a piece on mod-chip.com

They all worked except for one on a v4 ps2, i used 3 mod chips and it didnt work so i guess on a v4 it wont work.

I know it works on v9, v10, and every slim ps2 i worked on.

Since they jacked up the price to 30 a piece all i get now is matrix infinity or dms4

thats great! i have a modbo 2.1 now but haven got a ps2 to work on, hope it comes soon.

i just used my muppet chip on a slim ps2 and it worked instantly. I was so happy and calling my girlfriend up and say 'Hey ! who's the man!'

but suddenly it just showed a black screen when i reassembled everything; i was so shocked and i panicked. luckily i realised it was the ground point not being properly soldered on, and when i check it out, the connection was open LOL. so i put it back and it works now.

by the way , i also fitted a Neo Fix XII in. I saw that Neo fix V2 and Neo Fix XIII have the test mode to show whether the fix is working, but does Neo Fix XII have any? I tried it and there wasnt, so I hope i did the install correctly.

I wouldnt want my slim ps2 to burn up =|

You really only need the laser fix with the v.12 slim. As far as I know, the v.13-15 don't require a laser fix when installing a modchip. @Aaur4 why on earth would you install a modbo in your new PS2 when you have a DMS 4 Pro? The modbo might work for some people, but it can't hold a candle to the Matrix or DMS chips. For the Love of Pete, install the DMS 4 Pro over the modbo!!!

u got me wrong Tokijin, I used Muppet chip + neo fix xii on my new v12 ps2 slim.

i have modbo 2.1 and dms4 pro left now, and i want to use BOTH of them and not keep them =P

So i wont be buying any more chips, just do it for fun and thats it lol. not healthy owning too many sets of ps2 heh.

sounds new to me though, that v13 onwards do not require the laser fix. anyone else can verify this? i've never heard of it personally(since i dont own a v13-15 ps2)

Oh Okay. Well I'd definitely use the PS2 with the DMS 4 Pro. Install the modbo and sell that sucker to somebody to try to recoup some of your losses, at least that's what I'd do.
