Hello,

I read in multiple threads and other sites that you can swap the HDAdvance CD for a backup when trying to install a game in your HD, but for some reason it doesn't work for me. It worked fine with original games, but I can't bypass the CD check for some reason.

Some people say it should work for both HDLoader and HDAdvance. I tried with several versions of HDLoader, including the 8MB version, and HDAdvance version 1.00. I don't have an original HDAdvance, I did it by copying the .elf files to my memory card using the memory card exploit.

Can anybody help me please? Thanks,

XP

if you want to load a dvd game, you have to first eject and insert a big original ps2 game to refresh the toc. Then hit install, wait a few seconds, then swap for your backup.

V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero

Sly, thanks, that worked like a charm.

Joeku, thanks for the help, but Sly is right. It does work with backups, you just have to take advantage of that small glitch that HDLoader has.

And besides, I tried copying a game thru the ftp, but it takes forever!
I find it easier to load it from the DVD. I always make backup DVDs anyway.

Does it take longer by ftp to you guys too, or is it just me?

no, it's fine, mine doesn't stop either.

You have to eject the tray, put an original game, let it read it.
If it doesn't stop spinning, go to "install" but DO NOT hit ok, hit CANCEL!
That will make the disk stop spinning.
Then you swap the discs using the fliptop or whatever method you use.
And the next time you go to install, it will not check the disc, because it thinks it's the disc it just read!

cool, huh?

Hello Just wondering how you got to back up COD2 Big Red One. Mine works fine with HD advance 3.0 up to the point where you first save the first mission then it just freezes in that point. Also, Tenkaichi won't let me play mission mode. Anyone have the same problem? Please help. Thanks.
