I came across a site about a free hd loader to your memory card, sounds like the guy knows whats he is talking about can someone explain to me how this hd stuff works?

gotcha, alright I put my old hd in there can you erase the hard drive while its in the ps2 and how do you copy the games to it

The hard part is getting the exploit on your memory card. Once you get hd loader loaded, it formats the hd for you and it is just a simple menu for adding, deleting, and running the games.

no, exploits dont work on the slim ps2's.

RIGHT ON!! this rules the games run so fast I just put nfs most wanted on there too bad its only a 20 gig hard drive but whatever its good enough and san andreas is awsome cause when I played with the disc the buildings had a few seconds delay,not with the drive! oh and for anybody who wants the free hd loader I just got my dvd version off of emule, and I just booted it with swap magic 3.3

so there is no way to get back to the hd after you start a game? you have to reboot the hd disc?

correct, you have to restart the ps2 and run hd loader again.

most games are compatible, as long as you use the correct mode, or apply a patch.

yea whats this PPF patch do on winhiip what other patch would you use and where to get them? I cant get nba live 06 or true crime:NY to work and I tried all mode 1,2, and 3 on both games

Sly (or anyone else), you said most games will play off of a HD, as long as you can use the correct mode or apply a patch?
Example, I am unable to play Tony Hawks American Underground from my HD, but it wont play.
How do I know if I am using the right "mode" and where could i find a "patch"?
Also, How do I get HD Loader onto my memory card? I ahve one version there already, but I just downloaded another version (not sure if its more current or not).
