ok here it goes. i backed up my snakeater dvd with alcohol 120% and it plays fine with my swap magic disk with flip top lid , but when i tried to use gameshark v.4 with the codes already out in it! it didn't work. i tried tha gameshark first then swap disk and nothing then i tried swap disk then gameshark and nothing again. would someone please tell me how this does or doesn't work. thank you

ummmm. lol on the back there are the numbers amd letters scph-50001/n i think it is v.10

The newer models have a hard time reading Gameshark's. PS2 v9 and up are the newer versions.

If you have a SCPH-50001/n you could either have a version 9 or 10. The only way to be sure is to find the motherboard number. If it's GH-023 then its a v9. If its GH-026 then it's a v10.

The gameshark reads fine. It's when i use it with my swap disk that it gives me a problem!

Exactly! I had a PS2 version 9. I was using both Gameshark and AR Max. It gave me hell when trying to load cheat with backup games. My PS2 v7 reads backup games with AR Max and Gameshark with no problem. Its the lens of the newer versions that give the most hassle.

There's a memory card trick you can try! If your codes for you game have been downloaded to your memory card, this trick might work if you want to know?
