i haven't seen the lens of a V10 PS2, but if it is anything like the lens in my V9 then mabye i can help you.

In my V9 PS2, the loens has two potentiometers, one that says CD and the other says DVD, like their names say one adjusts the power of the lens for CD's and the other is for DVD's. If yours has both of the little screws, then try to turn the one for DVD, first try to lower the power (turn anti-clockwise) but only a little bit at a time. If that doesn't work then try to raise the power and just like before don't turn it too much. You may end up trying it 5 times before you get it perfect, so have some patience.

Hope that i was helpful

Good luck

NOTE

********Very important

TRY NOT TO OVER HANDLE THE RIBBONS, THEY BREAK EASILY, AND MAY BE HARD TO FIND A REPLACEMENT, SO BE CAREFUL.

man, thats something that i recently bumped onto myself. When i reset or eject the games they take forever to respond. I found a problem with my drive motor, it didn't stop the cd's from spinning when i wanted it to; so the disc slowed down on its own time. I haven't corrected this problem yet, i will try it tonight and post something up tomorrow and tell you what happens.

But to answer your question, i think that mabye the ribbon connecting your drive motor to your mother board may be damaged. Use a tester to check each strand for continuity, otherwise i am as baffled as you.

i checked the ribbon for the drive motor in my PS2 and it turns out that the problem was there. Due to the bend in the ribbon wire the strands of wires broke and didn't allow my drive to spin at different speeds. I repaired the wires and mow my PS2 is back up again.

INACENTZ

did u check the wires? post up to let me know what happened.

sorry for the bad news, but the cpu is fixed into the PS2. The Ps2 is not made to be upgradeable, all parts are stock.

The only thing which resembles an upgrade is the hard drive you may install. But in order to install you will need either a PS2 network adapter or otherwise use an USB harddrive with enclosure.

BTW: What version do u have, i am asking because no matter which version u have it is still compatible with most PS2 games, the only reason that different versions were made was to fix minor bugs that developed after the initial launch of the PS2.

Hope i answered your question

hopefully the wires are broken at the same place that mine was bronen. Mine was broken at a sharp turn right where the ribbon cable goes back and under to enter the motherboard. I cut off the end that is to be placed in the motherboard with a scissors and then with a very sharp knife, gently scratched off the plastic covering each strand of wires until all were exposed (make sure you do only the side on which the wires were originally exposed an on the end u cut off, u will need the other side with the plastic on to suppot the wires so they don't bend when you try to put them into the slot)

since you cut off the part that was broken the wire will be shorter, giving u little space so hopefully u didn't cut off too much. try to put it into the slot where it belongs.

In order for me to have done that i had to remove the part of the drive containing the lens so i could get it closer.

Then carefully put everything back together.

I hope that this works for ya man, otherwies u will need to get a new drive spindle.

Good luck
