Many people have said to me, to burn PS2 games on no more than x2...
and i've also read about this on a couple of forums...

the problem is, when i come to burn a game with an ISO image
my DVD writer doesn't allow me to burn on x2 , the minmum is x4...
I use Nero 6...
Does anyone have a solution ?
or is it alright to burn on x4 ?

If the discs you are using are 8X, you should be fine burning at 4X. You could also try using DVD Decrypter instead of Nero (lower speed choices).

You should be fine burning a data disk at 4X. By the way, what type of media are you using? You want to make sure that you use a good brand like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, TDK or Sony.

You might run in to trouble with those discs. I'd recommend trying some of the brands that I mentioned in my previous post. A lot of stores sell 5-packs that you could get, just to try out.

high quality media is what you want for games as Jamaal10
mentioned. Cheap disc may work at first but in the long run
they can cause a lot of problems.
In addition Philips & Ritek are also good.
And i have heard people having success with Maxcell but can not confirm that
I do know that Memorex and no name brands are the worst for games.
DVD Decrypter should still let you set the speed below 4X
even with 8X discs, even though you don't need to as 4X would be the correct speed for burning on 8X DVD's
But even if you could DVD Decrypter will usually burn at half the speed of the DVD you use.
When i use 8X DVD's, which i always do, I can set it to 1X
but it will still burn at around 4X anyway, so i just started setting it there to start out and all was well.
Also do not use printable DVD's or RW DVD's as they do not work well for games.
I would get the DVD-R in 8X speed in small pack sizes until you
find one that works for you every time.
I have used TDK in the past which worked fine.
And now use only Philips DVD-R 8X which work great.
Both of my PS2's and my Xbox and all my movies have come out
with 100% success rate.
