Yep...my brother tried and failed to get the sensor to pop up again, so I guess trying to return the thing is my best bet. Man, I'm such an idiot...I mean, within 3 hours of opening the box, I can't get the PSTwo to actually read anything...wow...

Okay, I got the PSTwo exchanged, but I think I got an older model this time. The model number's 70012 on this one. Whatever, I don't think I'll be opening this one up for awhile anyway (going to Florida for Christmas for a week).

I don't know how to attach a photo, but the 75000 series will not allow C tool to be used! I compared the photos of the silver PS2 on swapmagic3 website and it says "newer slim models, including the silver...." well, the 75000 is in that group. Where the C tool goes, there is now a small silver rod that blocks that hole, so you would have to use the D tool.
And, it appears the rail to the right of the sensor is now right against it, or they made the sensor larger so the D tool does not fit over it.
Unfortunately, all the stores near me only have the newer 75000 series! They sell so quick with Christmas coming.

MickM, how did you get it to fit snug? I tried it on my broken PS2 and it only set on top. What did you use to press it down with?
Once you installed the A, B, and D tool are you able to use Swap Magic discs and play your back ups?

yeah, i could play back ups just fine. i admit i only tried one game as i was only testing the swap magic stuff before xmas so i could return it and yell at them if it didn't, cause my wife would kill me. But yes, installed tool d which is something i didn't really want to do as if stuffed my warranty. I only pushed down tool d with my finger.

@McPhenius - "too have to 75000 series pstwo and the magic switch pro tool d worked perfectly, but i did have to press fairly firmly to attach it. Maybe the magic switch pro is a different package to what i bought here in australia"
That means it was in the 75000 series
@Deepen51 - How did you exchange even if the warrenty sticker was off it? Please tell us SO McPhenius can do the same

Some shops dont look at the warranty sticker at the back of the console, they just change the console for you without having a look at anything.

Well I found a new 70001 at a store near me. They only had one left and the rest were 75000 series. So I checked it and IT HAS THAT LITTLE ROD in the hinge too! And it has the warranty sticker over the screw! So I checked again on the version numbers and I believe I have version 13. It shows it as 70001 with minor modifications.
Does anyone remember the thread here in the forums the other day ago that talked about that little rod in the hinge that prevents the C tool from going in? I thought I remember someone saying they were able to remove the rod easily (heated it up?) and use the C tool without opening the case and relying on the D tool.

I got it working. Used the "A" tool from ps2fliptop package and used the B & D tool from Magic Switch Pro v2 (I had to use D tool since I had a v13). But it seems to be loading up fine, etc.

Well, I'm back from Florida, so I went ahead and checked this thread again. I realize this isn't very timely, but I'll answer anyway.

Simple...I just put it back in the box and packaged it nicely. The guy just checked the serial number on the PSTwo through the box, opened the box to make sure there was in fact a PSTwo in it, and handed me a new one (well...it was a v12, but still new).
So...I guess...my question is, what should I do to my v12 now? I still have the Swap Magic 3.3 discs I used with my v7, but the old cap and switch are long gone.
