DVD-R is most compatible

DVD+R is more quality but less compatible with fat ones

do some research as there are many..many...many..many
posts here about media. And you will get a different answer each time. What works for one person will not always work for you.
I like DVD-R 8X speed Philips media.
and i hope you know that you have to mod your PS2 to be able to
play these back up games. If not, time for more research.

is it true that its not necessary to install that chip that reads the DVD-R, DVD+R . and all that i gotta do is open the system apart and move some plastic piece/lock in there.
i was wondering is that was b.s.

Theres a non-soldering chip made by DMS4, but it is harder to install than it sounds. Get the PNP Key modchip (solderless, all you have to do is take off the PS2 cover, disconnet 2 ribbon cables, and connect those cables into the modchip, which in turn goes into the original place of the ribbon cables) with Swap Magic and all you have to do is hold Eject until it turns orange and ejects once Swap Magic is loaded, and then just do the same to load the game. Together it costs about $40 and it probably the most effective at its price (slide card can damage PS2 eject mechanism and flip top requires you to take PS2 apart and change cover).

It's Festivus for the rest of us!
