I'm using isobuster and nero for rebuilding/burning PS2 games.
I've read a lot of faqs regarding this. I use swapmagic 3.6
I burn the game using Iso/Udf in Nero, as I was told. also I only rebuild the Iso part of the image file (leaving the udf part alone)
My problem is, the loading sequence of the games is very long, and sooner or later it freezes and the sound is repeating itself.
Do anyone know what I'm doing wrong. Some games work, others doesn't.
This has already costed me a lot of Dvd-r discs, so I'm desperate for help.
first off if you aren't down sampling or removing bonus tracks from the game then you shouldn't be busting the ISO and rebuilding it, just read and write it if it's a DVD-5.
I'm using DVD-R 8x(think the producer call it "Pro DVD")(grey disc)
I burn it at half the speed (4x) this is also the minimum burning speed I get in Nero.
I've also tried to burn it directly, without rebuilding.
It works with some games like SSX on tour and others.
My problems occur burning: MK deception, MK Shaolin Monks, Metal Gear Solid 3, Resident evil 4 and Silent Hill 4.
I've burned just a few over 600 different PS2 games most of which are DVD-5s and I've yet to have a problem burning them. i use Ritek disks (GO4s & GO5s) i have a Pioneer DVR-105 and a DVR-110D. for burning i used to use Prassi Premo and it always worked great, it was just a little on the slow side of reading and then writing so i now use DVD Decrypter for all burning (CD and DVD) with it's inability to read a CD (it will write one though) i use CloneCD to make the image file. I've used Nero a few times and it always worked great i just found the other programs more user friendly.
it could be your disks not being of a good enough quality but a quick check would be to download DVD Decrypter (it's free and you can get it on this site) and try it with your disks. if it still fails try picking up a 3 pack of high quality disks and try them, if it still fails, I'd look into the chip being bad.
for what it's worth, i burn all my DVD games at full speed which is currently 8x with the Ritek's, i used to slow it down on DVD movies but the quality is just as high even with Progressive scan so i do not see a need to any longer.
