This year I realy wanted to give my 7 year old daugher the ultimate christmas present. I baught a Playstation 2.

However her first remark was - "dont need it, waist of money dad".
And she was absolutly right, after 10 minutes of gaming, I packed all togehter for a refund.

What is the idea of using PS2 or similar gaming consoles ? Why not use a PC ???

Red all about the ModChips, but why bother when a PC can do the job. Most games are available for PC anyway, and you dont have this ModChip problems.

If you are in the market for a gaming platform, go for a PC - PS2 and similar gaming consoles belongs to the past and are DEAD !

WTF is your point?


Consoles dont need graphic cards updates and have A LOT of game taht the PC don't have. For example PS2 and Square Enix games. PC don't got none.

you lose either way.
if a game is on pc and console, i prefer pc cuz easier to dl and play. but controlwise, even with psx to usb, it doesnt feel right.
fighting games are never good on pc.
Also yea, a ps2 is what 100-150$, when youll have to drop that much minimum for a decent video card. not to mention a quality mobo, cpu, ram, hdd, etc.
And i havent seen a good rpg for the pc in years. mmorpg this, mmorpg that.
Hell, I still play halflife1. And played quake1 still when q3 was already out.

Well anybody have a PC these days, so does my daughter at 7.

I suppose to invest in a gamecard for her PC should be less expensive than buy a PS2.

I red that you can get emulaters too - so will bring back the PS2 for a refund tomorrow.

It just strikes me, that all the console freaks spend a vast amount of time and effort in ModChips, small plastic pices etc. to run backup games on the PS2 - but they dont make any effort in configutating their PC to be a gaming machine. I´m sure that there exist a gamecard for PC´s which can match any game console out there.
