My ps2 console won't detect my official ps2 harddrive please help!

As the topic states. My Ps2 has stop detecting my official ps2
harddrive. It won't even appear on my browser screen. Here are the symptoms to the problem. When I start up my ps2 console I can hear the hdd make noises like a disc is spinning (even when no disc is in there). Then after while it will make a beep sound once, and then it will do it again, then the browser menu will appear. Then when I press the x button to open the browser menu the hdd icon is not there. Also the hdd utility disc cannot detect the hdd either. Can someone help fix this problem Please. Thanks in advance

Your hd might be bad or it might not be compatible.
