PS2-Freezing when loading games

Well I recenty modded my PS2 with a flip top and I use swap magic, before I modded it all my original games worked perfect. Now after I modded it I can not play some of my original games. When I start up madden it goes to the main menu screen where it says loading and it just freezes there, it does the same thing with Socom and Socom II, please let me know if you have any thoughts of what the problem is and how to fix it, GT3 does work though, so I don't know what the problem is.

hi i just installed a slim flip top for my sons and loaded up a backup game that also freezed up all the time at load up,found out that the slim top was not installed correctly,could here the disc spinning and then stop over and over, put pressure on the slim top at the back and then the game loaded up ok. took a look at the back by the hinges and the plastic top was bent up, so took everything apart again and bent the top back,reinstalled and game loaded up a.o.k.,so first thing is to listen when the dvd is spinning to hear if the cd stops spinning,if it does put presure on the flip top and see if that helps. check your top to see if it is on correctly. hope that helps

I checked and that is not the problem, it seems like the disc is spinning kinda slow and when it freezes the laser just gets stuck and doesn't move or anything, is it a laser problem?
