Noob question alert !! dvd movie playback is green

Sorry everyone for asking what will seem a "noob" question but had ps2 modded about a year ago - dunno what chip - ps2 model is scph-35003 - my boy put on a dvd movie today and playback was in green. I assume this is a result of the modding. is there any setting i can change to sort this other than playing on a black & white tele (can you still get those??) only joking.

Not the end of the world i know, just curious, have seen some previous posts talk about chips with green fix and am worrying this could be something i'm stuck with

ahh don't quote me on this but i believe this is a disk region issue (not just a pal/ntsc problem). look in the DVD forums I've seen explanations in detail there and fixes as well.
