Yes I am very nub to this whole mod chip thing but i am thinking of investing money into one of these mods. I need help on deciding whether I should get a new slim ps2, Magic switch, and swap magic. Or if i should get a old refurbished ps2 and use the fliptop/ swap disc.

Also I was wondering about burning games. Is it ok to have just one dvd/cs writer? Or do I need to put a dvd player in the expansionbay. Thank you for the help.

Also what about the usb extreme. Is that a good alternative to flip top etc.?

DO NOT get USB Extreme. PS2 only has 1.1 USB and playing games off a hard drive will be very slow.

As for the PS2, just buy one as cheap as you can (but not v1-3 or slimline, try to find v7, it is quite possilbey the best). Then get you modchip modded at (http://www.modchipman.com/have-modchipman-mod-your-ps2-p-33.html?...). It has great service for cheap. You can choose which chip you want (or supply your own), ifd you want HD connect service, if you want a fliptop, and if you want a Sony accessory pack (1 xtra controller + 1 8mb mem card). Just remember to buy from the link please (I get commision from that, which basically means you're giving me money at no charge to you).
