I can't get my CD tray to open.

For whatever reason my CD tray refuses to open. The standard start up screen appears, so the OS hasn't been wiped or nothing, and yet every time I hit the eject button, I hear this whirlling sound, and then a sound as if something is being scratched inside of the PS2 (there is no disc inside of the console).

Thing is that I believe that I am somehow responsible for this. When the problem first started, there was already a game inside, and the game played just fine, the only problem was that the tray just wouldn't open. Latter, in an attempt to open the tray, I pushed up and forward on it, hoping the pressure would cause it to autoeject. No such luck. Now, instead of playing the game that was trapped inside, it makes the above whirlling and scrapping noise. Opening up the case, and removing the tray guard, I removed the disc, put everything back sans CD guard, the problem persists.

Looking in the interior I realized that the CD wheel seemed to be slanted at an angel. Is this normal? Did my pushing mess something up? After ordering a slidecard, I tried to use it to open up the tray (I lost my old one), but the tray still seems to be locked in place!

I'm at my wits end. I have no idea what to do to fix this problem. If it is of any help, my PS2 is a version 9, 50001. Any help, regardless of how small, would be greatly appreciated.

I think ur cd tray fell of the wheel track becuz off use. u probably have to open up the shell and replace it with a flip top cover. This way u can still get access to the disk and play ur games, but the disk tray will still not work.
